Indonesian Scholarship and Relief Assistance of North America (ISRANA) is a non-profit organization established exclusively for charitable purposes. It was founded originally to help relief assistance effort when Tsunami hit Indonesia in 2004. Due to major contributions from the community, officers, volunteers, and our trustee in Indonesia, ISRANA is able to continue this program until now.

Our Mission

The purpose for which the corporation is organized is to conduct fundraising and solicit contributions to promote and perform educational, charitable, and cultural and social fraternal activities for the benefit of needy Indonesians and to promote Indonesian culture generally.

	Provides scholarships for Indonesian students with high scholastic achievements who are in need of financial assistance;
	Promotes, strengthens, and develops the bonds of friendship, brotherhood, and sisterhood that should exist among members of the Indonesian community;
	Promotes Indonesian culture and society through cultural exhibitions, food festivals, art exhibitions, bazaars, seminars, and other means;
	Educates members of the Indonesian community and others about recent developments, current events, and social issues in the Republic of Indonesia and elsewhere.
	Provides relief assistance from a natural disaster occurring in Indonesia.

Projects

ISRANA has been actively promote this scholarship program and participate in fundraising efforts in order to accomplish the organization main missions. The followings are the summary of ISRANA activities throughout the year;

	Provided scholarships to six students in Banda Aceh after the tsunami disaster. (July 2006)
	Participated in Indonesian Independence Day Festival for fundraising effort. (August 2006)
	Expanded the scholarship program to assist 35 students in Aceh, Batam, Bandung, and Jakarta. (July 2007)
	Promoted ISRANA scholarship and conducted a fundraising program during Indonesian Festival in Houston.(August 2007)
	Upgrade website and provide better information about ISRANA and the scholarship program.
	Collaborate with Indonesian Community in Houston to promote its program and involve in a fundraising effort.
	Expand the scholarship to sponsor 100 needy children in Indonesia for 2008.

 

Officers

ISRANA is fully dependent on voluntary efforts. None of its directors, officers, or any other members, receive payments from its funds. We follow strict guidelines to avoid any conflicts of interest. In addition, we try our best to maximize the use of the donations that are given to us by distributing funds to the intended recipients and by minimizing our operating costs.
